Precision architecture, built on trust
Interiors for the seat of the Supreme Assembly — the room is arranged around one table, and everything above it works to keep the whole assembly in a single even light.
Behind an existing colonnaded facade the work is entirely interior. A coffered ceiling carries the chandeliers and the coves that wash the panelled walls, so no seat at the table sits in shadow. Wall panels, joinery and carpet are held to one cream and gold register, which leaves the horseshoe table and its lectern as the only dark mass in the room: the furniture reads as the subject, the surfaces as its setting.
