Precision architecture, built on trust
The concept of the new Bukhara International Airport is aimed at reflecting Bukhara’s religious, cultural, and historical heritage through contemporary architecture. Visually and conceptually, the project draws inspiration from the crescent and twelve stars featured on the national flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as from Bukhara’s historical title, “Qubbatu-l-Islam,” meaning “The Dome of Islam.”
The building’s façade is inspired by a modern interpretation of the ancient Ark Fortress, emphasizing regional identity. Functionally, the airport building is clearly zoned: each level of the terminal has been carefully designed to ensure smooth and efficient management of passenger flows.
